The Night of Blood
December 28th, 2050 (17:11)
On the evening of the 28th, the United Arab Republic and it's amassed armies which had remained in a stand-off against a Tunisian Loyalist Faction of the Army would finally make its move. UAR soldiers having received their marching orders, would with significant equipment and numerical advantage - move to surround the various factions of Tunisian army personnel.
Demanding "total surrender" of what was being called "disloyal" forces, the UAR would be met with gunfire in response. The opening exchanges across Tunisia would light up the night sky as the extremely close-quartered nature of the combat began to evolve.
It was the UAR's original plan, to create security cordons around the bases in question, Tunisian commanders - unwilling to be surrounded without a fight would meet UAR forces head-on. Beginning the Night of Blood, as it has been named in Tunisia.
While battle-hardened, the UAR troops ultimately found themselves facing off against a group that they had left with no other options. And as such the fighting was fierce, brutal, and overwhelming. In what has been called the "Night of Blood", casualties would begin to amass on both sides as the UAR struggled to mobilize its large quantities of armored vehicles into what was effectively, extremely dense areas of fighting.
The UAR forces hearing word across their extensive surveillance and intelligence networks throughout Tunisia, that some previously assumed UAR-loyalist soldiers which had remained off their respective bases had begun to mobilize, quickly began to mount further pressure on UAR commanding officers. Attacks by these previously unaccounted for soldiers quickly became more violent and effective as UAR administration, communication, and back-line logistics found themselves under consistently growing pressure. And with their advance against the Tunisian Army becoming bogged down due to the close-quarter fighting, UAR commanding officers, aware of the mounting casualties, chose the Russian Option.
At roughly 19:34 on December the 28th, forward-placed Jobaria-II MLRS systems, previously used to threaten the Tunisian Loyalist Army, opened fire alongside further targeted artillery strikes on the bases still putting forward a defense. The Tunisian Army without any true air defense systems, found themselves slaughtered like fish in a barrel. However as UAR forces entered the now destroyed bases, they expected the dust to have settled. Little did they know, that assumption couldn't have been further from the truth.
The Assault on Fortress Algiers
December 28th, 2051 (22:03)
Looking back, geopolitical experts had expected tensions to continue rising between the two spatting P6 members - a spreading of "proverbial wings" in both cases, as boundaries got tested between would-be great powers. However, what geopolitical experts failed to expect was a complete first-strike and assault by the UAR against the nation of Algeria and ultimately, against Brazil.
While Brazilian forces had arrived and established themselves in bases, the initial response by the UAR to simply "prepare for a potential Algerian attack while issuing stern warnings, was expected to be the climax of tensions. However, whether it was due to inexperience among the lower ranks of the UAR command structure which has continued to expand as new nations have joined - or panic among the upper-echelons, one thing became clear - the UAR had been the one to strike first.
Despite the ongoing ground combat in Tunisia, the UAR would send its eclectic collection of modern and antiquated fighters alike to strike at the heart of Algeria. UAR commanders meanwhile are reported as having been "supremely confident" in the lead-up to the strikes, trusting in "total numerical superiority" as their fighters crossed the border between Libya and Tunisia and then into Algeria.
However, leaked documents would later give insight into a Supreme Command system not becoming of a true Great Power. Documents from within the UAR command network - had revealed that the original plans had assumed Brazilian planes and equipment had either just landed, or that the UAR maintained some ability to still intercept said aircraft in transit.
Furthermore, UAR intelligence had disregarded the possibility that their actions to heavily militarize the Algerian border would have been noticed by Brazilian and Algerian military radars and intel - causing Algeria to launch its patrol-sorties over its air space and have its air-defense pre-activated. These oversights would cause perhaps the greatest UAR air-defeat in history, coming to resemble the Six-Day War.
As several hundred UAR fighter pilots flew over the Tunisian Skies expecting an unprepared foe to await them in Algeria, they instead found themselves almost immediately engaged by Algeria's aging yet functional fleet of Mig-29s and Su-30MKAs. Little did the UAR know at the time, but Brazilian air-defense radars and systems had long been activated and established providing a clear forward-warning to the patrolling Algerian aircraft.
What ensued was a chaotic first engagement over the Tunisia-Algerian border, as UAR air-defense systems not previously expecting a serious air-engagement began to rapidly activate in Tunisia despite having been hampered merely hours ago by insurgent forces. While initial casualties sustained by Algeria would be high, the tables began to turn as the UAR pushed further into Algerian controlled air space.
The mission, no longer defined by what the UAR High Command had considered "clear-cut targets", quickly devolved as the UAR's aging yet numerous fleets of F-15E Strike Eagles and original Delta Dart I begin taking the brunt of UAR losses. The UAR which found themselves striking opposition that had a significant home-field advantage was forced to fight for every inch of Algerian air space. Initial casualty estimations streaming through UAR command networks had reportedly placed total air-casualties at nearly 108 total lost manned aircraft during the opening engagements as older Algerian aircraft and a network of layered air-defense operated by Brazil (some veterans of the Alkebulan War) ate away at the UAR's numerical advantage.
However while the aging Strike Eagles and Delta Dart I's had led the initial strikes, heavily armed Delta Dart II's in increasing quantities began their missions as the Algerian air force supported by Brazil's now defending F-35A Mk7s from Ain Oussera and various wingman UCAVs were kept busy by the UAR's still large fleets of dated aircraft. The first UAR strikes would reach Ain Oussera which had put up a brave defense, yet despite valiant acts by Brazilian air-defense operators, the base itself would be struck by a series of attacks from Delta Dart IIs and the JH-9 Fighter Bomber. And while many of the successful JH-9s found themselves shot down on their return trips. It would later be revealed that the JH-9s had been shot-down by other UAR delta-darts when the JH-9s of Chinese origin had attempted to send communications to nearby Delta Dart IIs for escort back to the UAR, with the Delta Darts assuming they had just come under attack. The successful strike on Ain Oussera would still nonetheless be the first sign that the playing field was beginning to balance out.
While it wouldn't be until after the dust had settled, Brazilian command was shocked to hear that inspections of the Ain Oussera facilities had verified an earlier suspicion. The UAR had targeted Brazilian air-defense launchers, but had neglected to prioritize radar systems. And so, when Brazilian officers re-entered the ruins of Ain Oussera, a resounding laughter could be heard as several Brazilian radar systems where found to be operational while the nearby launchers had been destroyed.
Nonetheless, despite the UAR's clear numerical advantage, the casualties on the UAR's side had "leveled-out" the air war as opening engagements and Brazilian-led counter-attacks came to an end and a stalemate of continued smaller skirmishes began being fought over Algeria and Tunisia. While the UAR began preparing a larger force of primarily Delta Darts which had remained in air-bases across Northern Libya, the Brazilians began repositioning and resupplying their fatiguing air-men.
Yet Brazilian military commanders were still acutely aware that should another air-assault by the UAR of the prior magnitude be launched - the dwindling Algerian and Brazilian air forces would be unable to hold. And with the air-base at Ain Oussera having been destroyed, Brazil was left to rely on pre-planned reinforcements.
At the same time, military experts would look back and note a critical mistake, the UAR had failed to notify its sole ally in the region the Imperium of Laurentia, until the end of the opening engagements. With the Imperium engaged in Korea and Alkebulan alike, the lack of communication from the UAR would mean that Laurentia would be unable to muster any significant assistance - promising satellite support when possible, but that for the time being that support would be the end of it.
The Stand of Wath
December 29th, 2051 (04:03)
Understanding their significant numerical disadvantage, Brazilian Supreme Command was quick to call upon reinforcements from Angola even before the fall of the defenses at Ain Oussera. And by no later than 04:03 of the 29th, the first wave of F-37 and F-30X B4 passed the point of no return entering Chadian air-space nearly uncontested due to Alkebulan's own destroyed air force.
Brazilian fighters were quick to come upon what appeared to be a stray UAR E-3 flying patrols along the Libya-Chad border, a perfect opening target that fell directly into what Brazilian command had laid out in the priority matrix. However, appearances can be deceiving and as a Brazilian F-37 moved to enter into stand-off range, the UAR Military Base of Wath opened fire, destroying the Brazilian F-37 and its accompanying MQ-350.
The heavily defended Wath Base would activate all defenses as UAR Delta Darts II having resupplied in Egyptian bases due to overcrowding in Libya would stream in from the East. Soon Brazil found itself fighting a not so dissimilar battle that the UAR had just fought prior, as their numbers began to dwindle having already been stretched to the upper-ranges of combat operations and now being pressured by relatively modern Delta Darts II and aging yet functional air defense systems.
Brazilian sortie-rates from Angola would only continue to plummet as aircraft where forced to make the long-trek back to bases in Angola. Brazilian military command would later come under heavy criticism for opting to force modern and numerically superior aircraft to return to Angola for resupply, forcing them to make lengthy return trips over Akebulan airspace and stretching the limits of Brazilian logistics and aerial refueling.
Wath Base would prove to be a significant obstacle for the Brazilian sorties, as the base itself, situated in a central position along the Chad-Libyan border allows for coverage of a significant area, forcing a confrontation regardless of Brazilian desires. And with losses mounting in the Northern combat-zones and southern reinforcements proving untenable, Brazil would be forced to rush forward it's final warning.
Line in the Sand
December 29th, 2051 (06:34)
With UAR and Brazilian naval assets now in-position, staring each other down from across opposite ends of the Gibraltar Strait, two lone F-37s having taken a longer route through Niger after refueling with air tankers being increasingly pushed further South, would draw Brazil's line in the sand.
And in a matter of moments, the entire Algerian-Tunisian air war would come to a standstill as two nuclear explosions were recorded east of Sabha in the open desert. Two warning shots were made clear from Brasilia.
At the same time, a lone MTB-135 ICBM armed with a nuclear warhead was launched - although was intercepted before reaching its target, the Arabian sea.
Brazil had made clear its resolve, its line in the sand.
The Brazilian nuclear strike despite clearly targeting areas that would result in no loss of life, still sent shockwaves through the UAR high command as officers began to freeze - having never faced such a scenario. The UAR which had never maintained a public or otherwise credible nuclear escalation policy had found itself frozen - unsure of how to respond.
Brazil meanwhile, sat nervously, awaiting a response from the Imperium of Laurentia - who they had just reached out to encourage a cease-fire and negotiations. Brazil had hedged its bets, hoping that the Imperium would not retaliate despite existing defense ties with the UAR.
Ultimately, however, it wouldn't be the Imperium of Laurentia which ensured no further fighting would occur.
Two paths diverged in Arabian Lands
December 29th, 2051 (09:00)
Brazilian High Command would find itself shocked when at exactly 9 AM on the 29th, the UAR regional command in Libya would send a request for a cease-fire while elements of the UAR high-command could be seen on live-state television announcing plans for a continued assault. These conflicting messages, a continuation from the night prior - would leave Brasilia in a state of confusion as numerical superiority clearly laid in the hands of the UAR. This was especially the case now that the full might of the quantity-heavy UAR navy had been brought to bare in the Mediterranean.
However moments later Brasilia would face a tsunami of local reporting and social media activity from within the UAR. Protests had erupted throughout the Arab nation and the broader region. And while Brasilia still must determine if the local-ceasefire holds legitimacy or is itself a ruse, the wave of local reporting would point in a clear direction.
Flipping through a variety of sources, both on international news media and social media from the locations themselves, the gravity of the situation soon began to manifest itself. For Brazil, it was a welcome sight. However, in the UAR - it was anything but.
Protestors outside the UAR Embassy in Algeria had stormed the building and while the Ambassador had fled some hours ago, the broadcasts throughout Algeria showed only the burning Embassy, the UAR flag turning to ash on live television.
In Tunisia, similar protests had erupted as the violence of the Night of Blood came to light, mothers, sisters, brothers, and fathers took to the streets - protesting what they considered a "wholesale massacre" of Tunisian soldiers who had only been doing what they believed to be right. Video footage of the Jobaria-II systems being fired and hitting their targets, along with the subsequent violent imagery was bombarded across Tunisian social media platforms. The public opinion was shifting, and shifting dramatically.
In Libya and the Arabian Gulf States, similar protests against the war with Brazil took form, although being largely peaceful rallying, the message was still clear.
The UAR, a nation who's governmental policy over the past several decades has been one of "Arab Unity, brotherhood, and democracy" had done the unthinkable. They had launched first-strike attacks tantamount to an air invasion of Algeria - simply because Algeria had been hosting Brazil as part of what an official statement called "military exercises." This action only compounded what was an existing 30-40% of the Algerian population which upheld an ideology of Algerian Independence, further the population of Algeria which had been initially supportive of the UAR's non-violence approach quickly found themselves switching sides as the UAR launched what they saw as an unprovoked attack on the Algerian people.
At the same time, the UAR had in the eyes of the Tunisian public and international media - slaughtered out-gunned opposition, trapped in Tunisian bases. And despite what the confirmed casualty reports would showcase, there was nothing the UAR could do to combat the massed wave of reporting.
The UAR which had brought into union nearly the entire Arab world through peace and democracy, had by attacking Algeria outright - finally allowed the mask to slip. However, the end-result was not as clear-cut as political experts had expected. Throughout the UAR, a divide in opinions exists, as large populations throughout the UAR (regardless of home-territory) support what they see as "a necessary transformation" of UAR policy as the country squares off against "subversive foreign elements". While at the same time, large groups (primarily in Tunisia and Libya - and among some* of the gulf states) have disavowed what they see as a "fundamental breaking" of UAR policy and Arab brotherhood.
This would only be further reinforced when part of a transcript of a conversation between the Imperial Foreign Minister of Laurentia and the President of the UAR began making waves online.
"The UAR has come upon its crossroads of destiny. A choice will need to be made, and consequences should be expected as a result. But to continue ignoring the issue at hand, would by our estimates - be unwise." ~ Imperial Foreign Minister of Laurentia (Paulette Jordan)
Many have likened the UAR's attack on Algeria - to the Laurentian invasion of New Zealand, drawing parallels between Laurentia which have openly embraced its foreign policy of Socially Just Imperialism and the UAR who has - until now refrained from "aggressive action". And while Brazilian "geopolitical experts" have remained hyper-critical of the UAR on Twitter, it is not just the UAR who has faced backlash.
False Legitimacy
December 29th, 2051 (10:00)
The UAR is not alone in backlash, Brazil has ultimately faced increasing scrutiny internationally as they once again wield the power of the Atom. Most critics point out "Brazil's trigger finger" and a perceived "light attitude" towards WMDs - surpassing even the Imperium of Laurentia.
Vocal critics have also pointed out that Brazil's use of nuclear weapons in defending a nation with which they had no ties until just recently, lends continued legitimacy to China's errant use of nuclear weapons. Furthermore, it is seen as a direct erosion of International Law and the United Nations.
While Brazil had championed itself as a rebuilder of the international system following its rise as a P6 member, its actions have ultimately served only to erode this public persona.
And while a line has been drawn in the sand, it is unknown ultimately whether the UAR will respect such an ultimatum - given their continued numerical superiority.
What is clear, however, is that the battle cries will echo across the Maghreb for decades to come.

BATTLE NOTES

Thanks to King_of_anything and Gijose41 for tech/battle detail advice.
  • For UAR
    • Algerian populace does not support the UAR given the outright air invasion.
    • Tunisia population is rapidly turning against the UAR, this can be managed.
    • Libya population is extremely nervous and while support hasn't ceased - there is hesitance among the population.
    • Smaller protests throughout UAR either in favor of policy transformation or against.
    • The UAR will need to handle the ongoing crisis revolving around their contradictory foreign policy. Naïve ideas on "Democracy Building" has led to an invasion of Algeria under the belief of "public support will exist". Instead the result is a violent war.
    • There are parallels being drawn between Laurentia's transformation - and the UAR's current predicament.
    • UAR ultimately continues to have a numerical advantage, and a proximity advantage. Further strikes against the under-supplied Brazil could prove fatal. However, despite maintaining a larger air force in theatre, the UAR air force's rival regional commands and their hardware's lack of interoperability will severely limit it's ability to operate at full strength, with continued attacks potentially having unforeseen consequences.
  • For Brazil
    • International criticism is being provided over Brazil's use of nuclear weapons.
    • Force degradation has greatly reduced Brazil's ability to defend Algeria - reliant on the ongoing fractures in the UAR's westernmost provinces.
    • International criticism over Brazil as a P6 member, "eroding international systems" through the use of nukes.
    • This will not significantly hamper future interactions.
    • Popular support in Algeria - now in favor of Brazil.
  • Relevant to both parties
    • Laurentia - while pinged, did not have time to "respond" or become active in the conflict from a chronological standpoint.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE NOBLE PHANTASMS AND SKILLS
CLASS SKILLS
Magic Resistance ( A Rank ) : Cancels all magecraft of rank A or lower. In fact, a modern mage could not hurt Hanuman. (In Hinduism, he is revered as the God who protect people against black magic and diseases)
Divinity ( A Rank ) : Being born with the essence with of the Wind God Vayu and later in life attaining immortality and becoming a Living God himself. He's Divinity is one the highest among that of heroic spirits.
Battle Continuation ( A Rank) : The one who when has complete control over his citta throughput ascetic means. He possess ability to survive. Makes it possible to fight even with deadly injuries and can remain alive so long as one does not receive a decisive fatal wound.
PERSONAL SKILLS
Size Manipulation ( A++ ) : Hanuman has the ability to change his size parameters from that of an Ant to a Giant that towers over the mountains at will. In Ramayan, he shrinks down to the size of an ant and sneaks into the Lanka. Inorder to inform Sita of the ventures undertook by Rama to reunited with his beloved. Later in the war, he grows to the size of a mountain and ripped apart a portion of Mount Dronagiri in the Himalayas, and carried it back to the battlefield for the magic herb Sanjeevni to heal lakshman who was has on the wake of death after getting hit by Indrajit's astra.
Blessings of the Gods ( A++ ) : This refers to the blessings of invinciblity received by Hanuman from the different gods due to an incident from his childhood. According to Valmiki's Ramayana, one morning in his childhood, Hanuman was hungry and saw the rising red-colored sun. Mistaking it for a ripe fruit, he leapt up, flew into the sky , increasing in size with every second and prompt to eat the sun itself. In the original versions, he actually ate the damn sun😂 , but in this version, Indra intervened before he could do such a thing. The king of gods Indra intervened and struck Hanuman with his thunderbolt. It hit Hanuman on his jaw, and he fell to the earth dead with a broken jaw. His father, Vayu (air) - states Ramayana in section 4.65 - became upset and withdrew, along all the air that encompassed creation. The lack of air created immense suffering to all living beings. This led lord Shiva to intervene and resuscitate Hanuman, which in turn prompted Vayu to return to the living beings. As the mistake done by god Indra, he grants Hanuman the blessing that his body would be as strong as Indra's Vajra, where as his Vajra can also not harm him. As such his body can't be harmed by any NP Ranked A+ or below. And every punch he throws will the weight akin to an A+ NP.
Along with Indra other gods have also granted him blessings: such as God Agni granted Hanuman the blessing that fire won't harm him. Thus giving him fire immunity. God Varuna (Water)granted him for Hanuman that water won't harm him. God Vayu granted a wish for Hanuman that he will be able to fly and move as fast as wind. And God Vishnu grants a celestial mace, which will be almost unbreakable in battle.
Eternal Arms Mastery( A+ ): Mastership of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivaled in one's era. By complete merging of mind, body and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance. Hanuman in Mace fighting and wrestling is said to be unrivalled both in the era of Ramayana. He is said to be the most physically strongest heroic character in Indian myth.
Brahmachari ( EX ): Brahmachari is somewhat different from the English term "celibacy," which merely means non-indulgence in sexual activity. Brahmachari is when a person controls his citta throughput ascetic means.
In one context, brahmacharya is the first of four ashrama (age-based stages) of a human life, with grihastha (householder), vanaprastha (forest dweller), and sannyasa (renunciation) being the other three asramas. The brahmacharya (bachelor student) stage of life – from childhood up to twenty-five years of age – was focused on education and included the practice of celibacy.[2] In this context, it connotes chastity during the student stage of life for the purposes of learning from a guru (teacher), and during later stages of life for the purposes of attaining true spiritual liberation
Hanuman is one such being, who pledged he's to Ram and Sita , casting aside all heavenly and earthly pleasures in sacrifice to the devotion he held for Ram, as such attained true spiritual liberation in follow the dhrama of Brahman. And in the end, received the boone of Immortality from Ram ascending to the heavens as Vishnu,to live on, protect the subjects of Ram's teachings and would live on until the Kalpa (Destruction of Creation)
This immortality skill nullifies all the curses and magic performed by anyone other than a Divine Spirit. It gives Hanuman resistance against all man made Poison and Plagues
 NOBLE PHANTASMS
  1. Hanuman's Divine Gada : A Rank (Anti-Unit/Anti-Army) This the Divine Construct given to him by Vishnu, which in the legends in said to be Unbreakable in battle. As such, it can't be broken by any NP ranked by A. It's dexterity, strength and size changes in accordance with Hanuman's. When strike on the ground, even in Hanuman's normal form, it can create wind pressure and shock wave akin to an nuke. In his Giant, when striked it can blew away entire armies from the battle.
  2. Sanjeevani : A (Anti-Unit) This is the divine herb of healing that Hanuman retrieved from Mount Dronagiri to save the life of Lakshman who was near death due to getting strike by a limited release of Vasavi Shakti by Indrajit. This Divine Herb can heal any wounds, how severe it may be until the receiver is not already dead it will heal him. As an NP is can used to heal any conceptual and physical damage completely to himself or his master. Further it can also be used as an potent agent to increase the mana of his master and as an mana source to when activating heavy mana draining NPs
  3. Dronagiri parvata : EX Rank(Anti-Army/Anti-Country) This NP is the crystallization of the two of the most famous deeds he did in Ramayana that were crucial in the defeat of Ravana's Army. First, being the retrieval of the portion of the Mount Dronagiri to heal Lakshman , which ensured the death of Indrajit and liting the entire capital of lanka on fire when captured by Indrajit upon his visit to see Sita.
Upon invoked this NP, he will take flight to the skies, increasing in size to that a mountain. Upon reaching the point where the Winds and oxygen bears almost no existence, the portion of Mount Dronagiri Materialises on his plam and then he strikes it with all his Mace, bearing in it all his strength, towards the target. The huge piece of landmass hurdles towards and impacts the target with the sheer force of a meteor. Thus engulfing entire army's and even nations in fire and ruin. In can only be used once and due to the sheer destruction Hanuman himself is reluctant to use it , usually deployed against reality marbles NPs of servants
 CHARACTER INFO
Lord Hanuman is a Hindu god and divine vanara companion of the god Rama. Lord Hanuman is one of the central characters of the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is an ardent devotee of Rama and one of the chiranjeevis(Immortals). He is also mentioned in several other texts, such as the epic Mahabharata and the various Puranas. Lord Hanuman is also son of the wind-god Vayu, who in several stories played a direct role in Lord Hanuman's birth.
The earliest mention of a divine monkey, interpreted by some scholars as the proto-Hanuman, is in hymn 10.86 of the Rigveda, dated to between 1500 and 1200 BCE. The twenty-three verses of the hymn are a metaphorical and riddle-filled legend. It is presented as a dialogue between multiple characters: the god Indra, his wife Indrani and an energetic monkey it refers to as Vrisakapi and his wife Kapi. :39–40 The hymn opens with Indrani complaining to Indra that some of the soma offerings for Indra have been allocated to the energetic and strong monkey, and the people are forgetting Indra. The king of the gods, Indra, responds by telling his wife that the living being (monkey) that bothers her is to be seen as a friend, and that they should make an effort to coexist peacefully. The hymn closes with all agreeing that they should come together in Indra's house and share the wealth of the offerings. Evidence of devotional worship to Lord Hanuman is largely absent in these texts, as well as in most archeological sites. According to Philip Lutgendorf, an American Indologist , the theological significance of Lord Hanuman and devotional dedication to him emerged about 1,000 years after the composition of the Ramayana, in the 2nd millennium CE, after the arrival of Islamic rule in the Indian subcontinent. He symbolizes the human excellences of inner self-control, faith, and service to a cause, hidden behind the first impressions of a being who looks like an Ape-Man Vanara.
Some scholars have identified Lord Hanuman as one potential inspiration for Sun Wukong, the Monkey King character in the Chinese epic adventure Journey to the West.

2020.11.28 01:44 RedditSuggestName 38 [F4M] #SoCal4SoCal - LTR. I'm looking for my guy. He'll love cats and dogs, want marriage and kids.

TL;DR: BBW, loves Disneyland, TV and her pets (2 cats and 1 dog); looking for a fellow DDF guy, who wants to get married and have kids in a couple years, too.
My dream is to find the whole 9 yards: friendship, fall in love, get married, raise kids together, with our pets; then we retire someplace warm or with a beach view. Does that sound good to anyone else?
I'm looking for a serious, long term, monogamous relationship.
I hope to meet someone with some similar interests, so we have something in common, but not someone exactly the same as me, because I don't think that'd be interesting or make for a good partnership.
We’d be partners that help each other out, making life more enjoyable along the way.
If my long post is any indication, I’m a chatty texter; I respond as soon as I can. I will send things that remind me of you. Tell you how my day went, will want to hear about yours. I miss waking up to a good morning and ending the day with a good night text.
Apparently I have to say this explicitly. Only message if you are single and are also looking for commitment.
Locals only, because I do want to meet; COVID safe of course.
Be prepared to video chat. I have no desire to be catfished.
If you're allergic to cats and/or dogs, please don't message me. I know from experience, it's not going to go anywhere.
THE LONG POST:
I'll always have indoor pets in my life.
Let's see, I've watched: Ozark, Narcos, Narcos Mexico, Dead to Me, Legacies, Living with Yourself, Preacher, Fleabag, Silicon Valley, Twin Peaks (old, movie and new), Ray Donovan, On Becoming a God in Central FL, Penny Dreadful, The Umbrella Academy, Perry Mason, The Boys, Atlanta, What We Do in the Shadows (still need to watch the movie; it's not on any of my streaming services right now), The Orville, Atypical, rewatching Supernatural.
Honestly, if there isn't at least a plan to meet within a month of talking, I'm out. I'm not looking for a penpal.
(I’m not a cook, so eat out at like Chipotle and poke bowl places.
I like going to fancy restaurants a couple times a year.
I’ll only go to concerts if I’ve got a good seat. This usually means buying the ticket the moment they go on sale. I’m not paying scalper prices.
For travel, I like to do it as economical as possible. Though when I went to Europe, I had the fold down seat on the airplane; no way was I flying 17 hours in economy. But it wasn’t the fanciest seat either; it was the middle version.
I like staying at fancy hotels on occasion, but booked well in advance to get a good deal, which is about $300/night.
I have a Disneyland annual pass, I do get a cheap hotel there on occasion, when I can be there for 2 days in a row; doggy goes with me. Hopefully you’ll have or want a pass too; if you don’t like going, fine, but help buy them for our kids).
We’re adults here; adults pay their own way.
I am NOT looking to be a sugar baby and won’t be someone else’s sugar momma.
Only a guy willing to to get an STD test and wear condoms gets to touch me.
I'm not into any pain, only pleasure, for both parties.
No, I’m not looking for anything casual or a FWB. No we would not see if we’re sexually compatible out on the first few dates.
Sex is an important part of a lasting relationship, but it’s not the only thing. We have to click elsewhere before we get to sex.
Honestly, if we can't have sex at your place, then this isn't going to work out. I'm extremely tired of talking to guys who have all these seemingly reasonable parent/sibling reasons why I can't go to their place. I've had enough. It now sounds to me like these guys are really married and trying to find an unwitting mistress. I’m sorry if that isn’t you. I tried keeping an open mind, but I can’t do that anymore.
I love the idea of each of us having a private space to go to if we just need some alone time. I think that’ll be important when we have kids, and are 10+ years into this.
Honestly, the thought of sharing a bathroom again terrifies me. I think that if it was the social norm for everyone to have their own bathroom, the divorce rate would go way down.
I am looking forward to cuddling before we fall asleep and when we wake up, and having sexevery day, ha
I do need to be with someone who is okay with my animals sleeping in the room. My dog sleeps on his own side of my king sized bed. One cat usually sleeps on her own, but about 5 am, insists on sleeping on my feet. The other cat is a loaner. He sleep downstairs usually; on occasion he’ll sleep next to the dog.
Hopefully we can find some kind of compromise; maybe move to a duplex or we'd have a very big home, with a master bedroom, with attached his and her bathrooms.
Thank you for reading. I know this was long, but I know what I want. Has anyone seen the great early 2010s show Happy Endings? There’s a quote that I think describes what I’m looking for. Someone to realize: “I found a woman who was so sure of what she wanted, and she wanted me.” Brad to wife Jane, S2E18 ‘Party of Six.’
In the subject line, please put your eye color. This helps me weed through the guys who only claim to read my post. And if you really want me to respond, then mention things that we have in common. I’ve included more than enough things to kick off a conversation.

2020.11.28 01:43 RedditSuggestName 38 [F4M] #SoCal4SoCal - LTR.

2020.11.28 01:06 cootblondie you'll never see me again

You held my heart for two years. Kept me anchored like a center of gravity. It was an innate piece of knowledge I had — that we’d end up together.
I said goodnight to you in Montana. Whispered your name before turning over onto the pillow.
On Western roads, sidelined by cured grass, I turned you over like a stone. The image of us in New York, at a restaurant table. My hair in a pony tail that I kept yanking tighter. Your nails longer than before. A sense that my shapeless life would turn on the heels of your commitment.
Consider this the end of optimism.
There’s a dimly lit fire I’m trying not to feed. One that tells me you’ll find me at the end of this. We’ll both be available. You’ll apologize; I’ll forgive you. But I’m trying to tell a different story now.
There are different ways to count it. The number could be anywhere between two and four. But the bottom line is that you’ve done this before. Examine the part of you that thinks you haven’t. Be skeptical of it.
Think of all the wounds that incurred as I sat through your asks for space. The time you got smoothies with E, telling her I was envious, unhinged.
“Girl,” she later told me on the phone. “Bottom line is that he doesn’t have your back.”
You later denied this was a date, but our trust was too splintered to stomach it. I called in sick to work that day, recording my cries on tape because I wondered what it sounded like to a neighbor. If it was as animalistic as it felt. The Wav form even and symmetrical — a guttural keen repeated on end.
The blonde girls with theatre degrees you followed on Instagram. The time you told me you were out late at a Kansas City bar, my imagination unfurling. The pause you took in Central Park when I asked if you were still talking to anyone. The drop in my stomach when you said yes.
“She’s thinking of going to law school,” you said, crouched to be eye level with me. “I’m interested in the process, so we talk about that.”
The delusion, tempting — that this was transactional. Text messages swapped about the LSAT.
My heart, filled like a junk drawer with slights.
I wonder if your journey is so that you never do this to anyone again. So that next time, you can commit. I wonder if mine is to never accept this again. To leave at the first sign of indecision. Because it’s about more than love. I wonder if that’s why I couldn’t say that I loved you back last time we spoke. I think I knew it would pull us closer, make us feel like we shared something, when what I needed was distance — a knife. But it also felt pointless. You love me. So what? What matters is staying.
I’ve written this letter over the course of a few days. On day one, I wondered if you loved me. If you loved me, how could you do this? On day two, I wondered if this was about other people. If the simplest explanation was the truth — you couldn’t commit to me because you’re not done shopping.
“Olive,” N texted me. “He’s 23. He wants a Rumpspringa.”
One day three, I wondered if this was about your parent’s divorce. Fears of abandonment. On day four, I stopped caring. You’re not here.
You’ve exhausted my bravery. Next time you see me, you can expect me to be cordial. But you’ll never hear me laugh again, out of breath and wild. You’ll hear the voice I give to telemarketers — frozen and doll-like. My bones will be stiff, my toes clenched within my shoes. It will be the me I give to strangers, to men on the subway who ask me for money and to baristas who hand me teas. You might see me, but it won’t be me. That person will go to someone else.
Note: this is one of a series of letters I've written but never sent to my ex. I've been doing this to cope with our break up and started a website where people can post unsent letters anonymously. It's called Goodbye Olive: https://www.goodbyeolive.com/
I started it a few weeks ago and just found this subreddit. Clearly a community of like-minds. I'd be honored if anyone would share their letters with me and my readers. I post new ones every Friday morning: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) <3

2020.11.28 00:53 Denske203 Trying to Explain What it's like to be an Addict to a Non-Addict

The current profile for the young male addict is quite different from the old conception of an addict. I feel like to properly convey my experience you must understand what has fueled the opiate epidemic. I think it's part due to a certain quality in young males, something like a general lack of a desire to engage in life like is normal in society. It's thought that this is the result of technology like the internet and social media. Basically, parents allow their young children unfettered access to video games and tv. Between this and a few other unhealthy parenting habits, the child misses out on crucial interaction with peers. This results in a lack of social development which later in life will result in the feeling like they are unable to connect to anything outside themselves. If you mix this with a lack of direction or passion for anything other then video games and add in a dash of trauma you have the correct environmental activator for the addiction gene.
Now as to the way it feels, I don't speak for everyone, but this is my experience. During my childhood I saw my parents failed careers and marriage while thinking to myself, if this is the result of trying in life why does anyone try at all. This train of thought was deeply embedded into my psyche and I find myself unmotivated by anything but immediate gratification. This started out with addiction to video games/tv, this led to trying marijuana, this led to trying other things, and after graduating it led to pills, and finally heroin. Once I tried it, I fell in love, I finally understood what it felt like to be whole and completely at peace. This turned into an 8 year love affair and there is not much else to this side of things. You feel like there is only one thing in the world that matters and what you will do to obtain your drug becomes more intense everyday. During this time a lot of bad things happened jail, living on the streets, got stabbed, etc. In most cases, people can't get sober until they have experienced enough pain to fuel the change they want to accomplish. Especially during the latter half of my use, I felt trapped, scared that I would never be able to choose to quit.
I went to rehab 8 times and detox over 20 times, each ended in a relapse. Despite wanting to stay sober, I failed time and time again and around 6 months sober I always found myself with constant anxiety which always led to relapse. At age 26 I found out I was going to be a father. I thought that having a child was exactly what I needed, I thought that this was what was going to fix me. I got out of a rehab the day my child was born. I was happier than ever seeing him be delivered, yet within 3 weeks I had relapsed. This relapse was short but what I experienced can only be compared to as the most hopeless and helpless person on the face of the planet. I thought there was nothing anyone could do to fix me, I was going to die an addict. This experience is what led to my current sobriety date of 10/23/2014 and I have been sober since.
Now let's get into what it feels like being in recovery. I cannot begin to portray to you the amount of change necessary for addicts to attain long-term sobriety. They say that the day the addict starts using, they stop developing. This for the most part is true. I started using marijuana regularly at 15 and that is what age I felt like in the beginning of sobriety. So I am a 15 year old newly sober heroin addict, who just became a father. I had no clue how to take care of myself physically, emotionally, spiritually...I had no work experience, skills, family hated me, little education...and I had to address legal issues, outstanding debt, terrible credit, find a place to live, find a way to feed myself, etc. Then comes trying to address our mental state. I did this with the 12 steps and a sponsor. But once I was done with them there was still a lot of change needed. The main thing was learning to be happy, which took quite a while.
If you remember I told you about always getting to 6 months sober and developing extreme anxiety. This phenomenon is actually what makes addiction so hard to overcome. Our brains when exposed to drugs for a long period of time become hardwired in a bad way. What I mean is drugs are just a way to trick our brain into feeling happy by triggering a release of endorphins. Our central nervous system has no way to tell the difference from the endorphins released by drugs and the endorphins released from normal sources of happiness. So after we get sober your brain no longer gets those endorphins and after a few months of sobriety your brain is screaming "where are our regular shots of endorphins!?". The central nervous system then sends an anxiety this in the means to make the person act and a craving for whatever the person's drug of choice, in my experience these do not go away. This is why white knuckling very very rarely works.
To my knowledge, this is the only way to circumvent these urges, by learning to live fulfilled and happy. This in an effort to achieve those regular release of endorphins through actions and thoughts alone. Finding happiness and fulfillment is already hard enough on its own but if you combine this with everything else required to stay sober, you'll understand why recovery rates are so abysmal. While rare it is possible, thanks to guidance from sponsors and mental health professionals. I do have to do continual maintenance on myself though to make sure I don't slip into my old ways of life. In summation, it is one of the worst mental illnesses you can be born with. I would not wish it on my greatest enemy.

2020.11.28 00:20 tjaylea I'm a Pathologist who performs autopsies on nightmares. This autopsy talked back.

Death is a taboo topic for so many of us. Something we shy away from, beat it over the head with a stick and scream at it to go sit in the corner until we’re ready to deal with it. It permeates every aspect of our daily lives without us often even registering it, yet we still run from it.
Because despite our various faiths, practices and beliefs; we don’t truly know what is beyond this existence. And that’s terrifying for so many.
Not for me, though. For me, it’s just work. Over here at Death May Die, we have a system that has remained unchanged for all the years I’ve worked here. It’s one I will apply to every entry in my strange life that I share with you.
Every 3 days, a new body winds up at my morgue with its own story about how it got there.
Every 3 days, I'll report back to you all with what I find.
Some corpses are contorted, misshapen from the decomposition, rotted or burning. Yes, still burning when I finally dump them on the cold table. Ritual deaths are tricky and require big rubbery gloves. Mine have a few fun stickers from the local music scene, gotta represent.
But they all have one thing in common;
Every single one of them is a product of nightmares. Literally and figuratively.
Now I’ll say here for those of you already rolling your eyes so hard they’re already prepping to become billiard balls; I’m not expecting you to start up petitions for nightmare integration or to start on your creature feature dating sim. It is not my job to convince you. Sturgeon is a weird fuckin’ place.
I’ll lay it all out now; Sturgeon has a serious nightmare problem on its hands. We all know they walk where we dare not tread and the folks like it that way. Unless you’ve been sentenced for crimes that shall go unmentioned or it’s near the end of their life, you are never likely to meet any of their various ilk.
A barrier separates Sturgeon’s denizens or “Daywalkers” from those who inhabit the darkest corners of our fears and those who came long before we stepped out of our caves. Cryptids, Nightmares, Beasts and so forth. They have their own histories, legends, infirmities, fears and flaws. Most importantly; they all die. That means someone must tend to them, set their bodies right and perform whatever practice they held dear to them.
Being the only mortician that is willing to cater to their final rites, it falls to yours truly; Fala McNamara, to do what needs to be done and provide them with their last rites, maybe learning something about them along the way.
With the latest iteration in the Tournament of Nightmares now over, my business has been… busy, to say the least. Bodies coming in covered in cuts, limbs totally eviscerated and organs simply gone. They love to keep a girl busy, that’s for sure.
But that’s not why we’re here today.
We’re here today because of the nightmare of the forests that was hauled in last week.
And what was inside of him.
-
I always hated early morning calls. Let it be known that Dr. Fala McNamara is not a fucking morning person. Not in a cute “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee!” type of way, either. Miss me with that bullshit, I enjoy the quietness of night where the sun cannot expose my exhausted face and dishevelled frame like the judgmental bitch he is. Makes me love the Winter all the more.
As my bones rattled in the early morning chill, my mind wandered to a familiar question; Was med school really worth it? To become Sturgeon’s sole nightmare pathologist AND mortician? Looks borderline comical on a resume. Well, not like I could quit now…
Hobbling downstairs from my apartment, Khali hands me a glass of something with a cheery grin and nervous hands.
“Mornin’ chief! Sorry to get you up so early, our next client wasn’t scheduled until after dinner, but you know how it is… I hope you’re not mad?” They fumbled with their hands and flinched as I took a sip before nodding at nothing and rushing to clean the reception counter. Khali was sweet, more nervous than a shelter animal meeting a foster owner and easily the most alive thing in this entire building. They were good at their job, though, and always thinking of new ways to bring efficiency to the business, so I would always tread lightly when they had a nervous spell.
“You know you don’t need to call me chief. Morgues just have Morticians. Don’t worry about the early start, I’ll nap after. The hell did you give me, though?” I feel the kick in the back of my throat and my eyes widen, my feet feel lighter. Khali shouts back as they go to answer the door.
“Mellified Man! Vendor told me it’ll wake anyone up pretty damn quick, enjoy it, chief!”
I was halfway through a mixture of confusion and anger when the door opened and a burly man towering over us both sauntered in, a friendly smile over his face as a cold snap hit me and I rushed for the nearest coat or blanket.
“Hey, hey! Khali you little scoundrel, thanks so much for opening up. Wouldn’t have called if we could’ve waited, but uhh…” He turned his head back outside and waved for his subordinates to wheel in the body. “This one was special. Figured you’d appreciate it when you saw.”
The man standing in my funeral home was Detective Chino De La Sturgeon, head of the L & M Nightmare Detective’s establishment that handled relations and issues between the two groups. Cavalier, fiercely loyal and, at times, tactless. He was a reliable colleague and the sort of guy you could rely on in a pinch, even if…
“Oh GOD Chino, what is that under your fingernails?!” Khali recoiled as he went in for a hug before looking down at his hands, bemusement written across his face.
“This? Ah, it’s just corpse pieces, stiff got a little uhh.. “mulchy” when moving him, but you’re not gonna let that stop a refreshing morning hug, are ya?” He grinned and let out a bellow as Khali jumped over the counter to spray themselves down, repeatedly muttering “nope,” under their breath.
“If you’re done terrifying my staff, shall we get down to business? I’ve suddenly found my morning zest and I wanna get this started before I find myself passing out with a hacksaw in my hands. I don’t need another Christmas party incident.” I walked down with my arms still draping a nearby blanket around me like a makeshift cape; hardly professional, but Chino was a friend. He nodded and shook my hand as we escorted the body to the main room.
The building was built in such a way that accommodated both the funeral and more grisly research aspects; The greeting room Khali handled was small and dignified on the street level, portraits of animals in admiralty uniforms and nightmare creatures or Cryptids looking peaceful in their caskets or atop funeral pyres were also commonplace and brought a sense of peace to those with families that sought us out.
I’m not going to go cliche and postulate the notion that “what if HUMANS are the monsters?” because that would imply absolutism and to be frank; it’s fucking stupid. But if it exists; it has kin and those kin need closure. I provide that first in the reception area and the bulk of my preparation in “the chamber” that is situated behind and below. It is an area the size of a small warehouse, fitted with lockers of all shapes and sizes for all manner of creatures, a workstation with a speaker attached for both music and communications from the front desk, a slew of my own personal oddities in jars, antique collections for both enjoyment and ritualistic purposes.
A small alcove in the corner was dedicated specifically to what I called the meeting room. It housed my taxidermy animals from my earlier medical days and my council of spiders a dear friend had gifted to me some time ago. The council were superb soundboards for particular queries, concerns, or general advice I needed. Two dozen spiders ranging from the polarising Madame Rumble (Aphonopelma chalcodes) to the always comical Duke Strassburg (Theraposa Blondi) and last but not least; my near-constant companion jumping spider (Phiddipus Audax) Minerva with her blue striped and iridescent abdomen, piercing eyes and constant desire to nest in my hair. They all provide excellent advice in exchange for good feeds and decent space.
It was my own personal safe haven from the world above. Where the main companions I kept were either solitary like me or unable to respond at all. Immediately I felt the safety blanket envelop me and I got to work observing the basics of our new resident;
The body was seven foot, nine inches and weighed 272 pounds. An XL tray accommodated him decently, and the smell of burnt wood and moss filled my nostrils.
As soon as Chino unzipped the bag and the deer skull popped out, antlers mid-shed and the right stalk snapped in half, I knew what I was looking at. Folks called them many things; lords of the woods, forest devil, the woodsman and even master protector.
But whether he was revered or vilified, he was respected under one unifying name across the western world;
Leshii.
-
I gathered the tools and studied my grimoire for the area depicting forest beings, their anatomies, and their burial practices. “Mister Woodenhuser’s Guide To the Mythically Dead and Magically Charmed: a One Stop Guide For Every Ritual and Anatomical Blunder” I found the damn thing in a yard sale when I was six, it’d never steered me wrong before, even if the name was a fucking eyesore. Flicking through the thick and yellowing pages, I found the section on woodland beasts and how to both conjure them and bury them.
This was going to be rough.
Since he was found with no next of kin available, it’d fall to me to send the body off after I was finished finding out what happened to him. Joys of being both coroner and mortician, hoping nobody came to claim him in case we fucked it up. While I rummaged for the right tools, Chino told me what happened;
“It was nine minutes past six in the morning when we found him. His body was hanging by the ankles from opposite sides of a tall gate bordering on the Williams’ Estate. Shit was nasty… I think some passers-by spotted him, but they damn sure didn’t say anything.” He shook his head and sighed, running his hand across his five o’clock shadow and an incessant scratching noise echoing around my sanctum that set my own hairs on end.
“Chino… we talked about the noises, remember? We had a whole discussion about how they make me feel.” I felt my teeth grinding as he put his hands up and walked back.
“I don’t recall a talk, just you screaming to get out with a scalpel to hand.” He smirked wryly. “You mentioned something about castration and I promptly left.”
“Then you know not to make the mistake again, don’t you? Was there anything else? Or can I unwrap my present before this mellified man turns me inside out?” I wheeled myself over to the table and began unwrapping the Leshen from his plastic bag, laying out the tools I’d need for the procedure.
“Nah, nothing else. I’ll go grab a coffee with Khali, but uhh… Fala? Do you ever think about your future?” I looked up, and he was leaning against the door, arms folded and concern on his face like a big brother or a father figure ready to give the lecture of a lifetime. “I mean, y’know, beyond this place?”
“Get hotter. Get older. Learn more. Die. Feed the ground. Become particles and travel unconsciously. All pretty standard to me. Why?” I thumbed the pages of my book and looked at where I’d need to start, most likely the chest cavity, figures. But should I crack the ribs first or cut it open and see what happens?
“Don’t you want a family? Maybe someone to do this with you? Someone to come home to?” His voice dropped an octave. “I worry about you here. Five years I’ve worked with you and never seen you with anyone. Well, not since…” He let the moment hang in the air like some mistletoe I was expected to saunter under, but I gestured around me without looking up.
“There’s over 200 bodies in here, each of them with their own stories, loves, fears, hates and passions unfulfilled. I’m with them every day, they’re just as much my friends as you are.” I shook my head and gave him a blank expression, hoping the message would sink in. “Everything else is just white noise. I like it that way.”
From the council in the corner I could hear murmurings of agreement and phrases such as “Solitary hunters are kin too.” and “You truly WILL be on your own if my mealworm is late, child.” I chuckled and when Chino met my gaze, he shuddered.
“Alright, alright. When you start talking to The Council, I get unsettled, so that’s my cue to bounce. I’ll be upstairs so just call me when you have anything, I believe in you chief!” I couldn’t even retort before he chuckled and headed back up to the reception, the thick steel door slow to close and Chino’s voice booming out with a triumphant “Hey, Khali! Wanna see what partial spontaneous combustion looks like? Little demons really have no control, so the first thing to sizzle is their-” while Khali screamed their goddamn lungs out in protest. It was like having two grown-up, hairy children.
Nevermind, distractions are removed. Time for work. I put my dictaphone on play and left it on the side table as I slipped on my apron and began walking around the body.
Patient #621b - A Leshii. Male. Middle-late aged, most likely in their late 500’s. The thick black chains at the joints were seared his green, moss covered flesh. The branches and foliage that adorned his body had been pruned, ripped out or cauterised. Not a single leaf was spared, every edge was furled in plastic. Over his head was a thick bag with a hose attached to a car exhaust, still running when discovered by passers-by. A black substance oozing from the sides of his mouth, ears and eyes. Cause of death…
Look,. I don’t think I need to tell you that you can’t suffocate a plant, but you can certainly put it to sleep with enough deprivation. Some sick bastard decided to let the poison do its work while our Leshii was in a barely conscious state and unable to fight back.
Leshiis come in all shapes and sizes; some are able to adopt the visage of tall humans when they’re still powerful, but many lose their abilities as they get older, instead looking similar to towering trees with oak limbs, a broad face with thick antlers forming a small crown. Regardless, they are revered all around the world as defenders of the forests, sometimes even violently if they feel they or their kin are threatened. I once dealt with a scorched female Leshii who had tried one too many times to reason with deforestation workers in a small Slavic town. They thought her a demonic entity and “cleansed her” with fire. Her son looked upon me with bright, amber eyes and told me every tree would know of what she had done.
This particular one was still in his armour when he died, the deer skull still affixed over his head, defensive abrasions across his forearms and legs. Clearly trying to defend himself against something but ill-equipped to do so.
Nothing more for it, I suppose. I picked up the scalpel to make the Y incision. For those of you morbidly inclined; it starts on the shoulder, running to the lower end of the sternum and then downwards in a straight line over the abdomen to the pubis. Cutting through with some degree of effort, noxious fumes rising up out of the cavity, I set the scalpel down and gripped both sides of the incision on the shoulders and pulled.
When I let go and looked down, I had to stifle a scream as I backed away to the safety of my meeting corner, the council of spiders all crawling out of their burrows to either console me or get a better look.
“Is it food? We would appreciate food, very much so, yes.”
“Is the chairwoman well? We do not wish to lose our primary feeder.” My chest tightened and my legs shook, I was used to all manner of oddities when dealing with these kinds of creatures. But to imply I was desensitised to the unusual would betray the human elements I still harbour within me.
Taking small, tentative steps back to the operating table, I pulled the movable desk around and craned the light down over the section where his organs should be. Strange, green and filled of fauna they would be, yes, but the grimoire was never wrong.
Instead, I was staring down at a sprawling, densely packed city running from pubis to clavicle, the spires on top of houses and municipal buildings jutting up to just beneath the last layer of skin the Leshii had, their black brick design reminiscent of Victorian era housing, but with an immediately far more uncomfortable atmosphere surrounding them. I peered down and saw small creatures cavorting in long flowing robes, their faces hidden and only small spindly appendages coming out where hands should be. Some spoke openly on the streets, others were ferrying large carts of foods, pieces of the Leshii’s organs, from one place to another. I saw small picnic tables where these things gleefully tore pieces off of the Leshii’s flesh, spewing a viscous black liquid around their dwelling and pasting it to the walls.
Wherever the black liquid touched, the internal walls would start to grow a vile mould that sizzled as it spread.
In the centre of this strange, macabre town, lay a pedestal atop a series of brilliant marble steps. A pair of statues depicting two figures in black robes and painted skulls for heads gripped a pair of obsidian shovels with pride, standing on either side of a pyre that connected to a thick black pipe. A larger cloaked individual stood in front of a crowd, speaking impassionately in a language I couldn’t understand, but his hand signals and accompanying imagery certainly explained his agenda.
Sacrifice.
I could do nothing but watch as a small, screeching individual was brought forcibly by members of the crowd, now chanting eagerly as the poor soul was thrown at the preacher’s feet, struggling to get up and staring around for help from someone… anyone.
But nobody came to their aid. They simply pointed to the pyre.
The dark flame was lit and I swear my own operating light flickered, I was enraptured in the worst of ways as they shoved this person onto the fire and sang a chorus. The hood fell down, and I felt my eyes widen in an even greater fear. That of inaction.
It was a little girl, by all accounts human and with only small deformities that were transfiguring her hands into the same spindly limbs her contemporaries had. She begged for clemency, for help. In any language, that’s universal.
Eventually, her resistances ceased, and the body fell limp over the pyre before being pulled into the black pipe. A guttural whooshing sound filled the body as it travelled up through the city and past the throat of the Leshii.
I was at a loss for words. No amount of medical training or living in this town prepared me for this. I furtively glanced down at the Grimoire and hoped for some information. Unfortunately, little sentient towns living inside woodland beasts were not among their vast swathes of knowledge. Goddamnit.
In a flash, the bulb on my light fixture burst and shards of glass rained down on my head, plunging me into an imposing darkness. I cursed, but remained thankful I had a surgical cap covering my black hair.
A light erupted from the body, a horrific & forbidden colour that I was never meant to see; that no person should ever gaze upon. Minerva, my jumping spider, crawled out of my chest pocket to perch herself on the top & stared intently at the sickening hue, her little pedipalps shaking.
Casting my eyes up & away from the glow, I saw something that days on is still haunting me.
The Leshii was awake.
His eyes glowed a strong Amber, and the jaw encased inside his deer skull grew slack, as if accommodating a great weight trying to pry itself free from his gullet.
Then, he spoke.
A booming voice that bounced around the walls of my building, growing in ferocity and power as the observation windows above threatened to shatter & my ears rang, my skull splitting.
“I see a place housing the dead. A realm where the barrier is broken down and all that remains is flesh & unresolved business.” His head jerked and snapped, the deer skull following me as I moved, desperately trying to get out of his purview. “I see shadowy figures taking this vessel and putting it to work for their greater purpose. I see… I see…”
The voice grew discordant, manic even as the body regained life and it too began to jerk and thrash.
“I see Sturgeon bathed in twilight, the unliving standing tall on the bodies of the greeter and the keeper. The dead will come to greet the living and all secrets will go to the grave. I see all things unravel, an endless spiral of decay and death. Fractals upon fractals.”
Something began to manifest in the back of the room, arms gripping either side of the near 100ft wide span and propping itself up as it took shape. A blackened, featureless representation of the corpse laying in front of me, still bleating out unhallowed prophetic drivel as my nose started to bleed.
“The Orders will clash and brothers will spill their blood in the place with no name. The devourer of sins will be brought to her knees and there will be no more spaces in between. All will converge under the light of the dusk walkers before falling silent.”
My vision was swirling, and this shape started crawling towards me, featureless save for a hungry, gaping maw of a mouth, locked in a static expression of apathy that set me more on edge than any wide smile or angry grimace ever could. I backed up into my corner with the council, but there was no room left to maneuver. I didn’t even notice Chino bringing down an axe on the throat of the corpse, severing the head from the body in one swift motion. The splitting of wood and the screeching of so many living things at once put me in the fetal position as it ripped through the room. After a few seconds, I looked up and saw Chino covered in sweat and staring at the spot where he’d made the strike. Mustering up what little courage I had, I got to shaky legs and walked over, Minerva cowering in my pocket. The spectre from the back was gone, a thick cloud of ash hung in the air where it had reached out, some 10 feet away from grabbing me.
The Leshii’s eyes still shimmered and the deer skull started cracking, the twitching less pronounced. Eyes shifted from Chino to me before fixating on a spot above us and espousing one final proclamation;
“In time, all the stars will go out. One by one. And we will remember.” With that, the light faded and a thick pungent smoke left the mouth, making me gag at the first whiff. Adjusting my mask and exchanging a look with Chino, I stared back down at the city of creatures in the chest cavity.
Every single one of them was staring at us. Red eyes like fireballs glistened behind dark hoods. Smaller children hid behind their parents and frail members shook with fear, but the rest simply looked at us as a threat.
A single voice rang out from the town hall, a small shovel in his hand that he brandished with authority and they turned their backs to us, some shutting themselves in their homes while others huddled together. The two statues glowed bright as black smoke running through the town and enveloping the entire town until nothing but the spires were visible.
When the smoke cleared, only the cloaks remained.
Every single one of them had vanished, and now only the empty city remains.
“I’m guessing this is not what you usually find in a forest lord, huh?” Chino remarked, breathing heavily and letting the axe drop with a thud, wiping his brow. “Any ideas?” I didn’t immediately reply, the fear of my own mortality still sending shock waves through me. Though I am for the most part at peace with my calling and the idea of death, there’s something to be said for not going out on your own terms and the terrifying idea of being here one moment and gone the next. I just about avoided making a fool of myself and passing out by clutching the edges of the steel table and letting my breathing slow.
“No. No, that’s not normal for a fucking forest lord, Chino. Flowers, moss, bugs, even small pure water deposits where the bladder should be. THOSE are normal. An entire city of little people complete with still alive corpse? Yeah, fuck that. Fuck that right in the ear. Jesus christ…” I pinched my nose and took a breath, thankful the man in front of me understood my hot-blooded nature and lack of social decorum. “I need to finish the job, hand me the circular saw, would you?”
He blinked in surprise before obliging and taking a step back. “You’re not even going to take a break? Seriously? Nobody would blame you, y’know.” He frowned as I grabbed it with shaking hands, gripping the handle tightly to steel my nerves, taking my mind back to the lessons I’d learned over the years and finding my footing once again. I would not let this beat me.
“I’m here. I’m alive. I’m well enough to continue. Plus, for his burial ritual, we need to be done by first light in some 90 minutes, so less chattering and more skull scattering.” The deer mask now crumpled away and the frightened but definitively dead face of the Leshii staring blankly up at us, his hazel eyes, humanoid mouth and thick nostrils caked in the black substance that had spewed from the town in his chest. Some kind of poison. I scooped a portion up from the saliva, ocular, nasal and what remained of the bladder to put it into a vial for toxicology testing. Whoever did this had wanted him unconscious with the plastic wrapping and ensured maximum suffering upon waking up. Poor bastard…
First making a triangular incision on the top of the scalp, stretching from one ear to the other and ending at the crown, I used the saw to cut through the bone and protect the soft tissue, not wanting to cause any more of a mess than what already existed.
When putting the circular saw down, however, I noticed a brand on the back of the Leshii’s neck, just above the vertebrae and still clearly visible in spite of the clean cut Chino had made. I scanned my Grimoire fervently in the hours following this and came to find a match for what I saw;
It was a circular sigil with three distinct rings. In the centre lay the earth, rings running out, and each circle means something new. The central circle represents death, next life, outermost birth. The skin peeled off the middle circle, making it abundantly clear that this was no ordinary murder; it was a message.
Instead of finding a brain, however, I found something far more disturbing. Something that would ultimately set me on the path I find myself on now.
In the place of any kind of brain was a mass grave of the creatures in the Leshii’s chest cavity. So many of them were malformed, frozen in agony and charred. Thousands of them spilling out onto the table and disintegrating the moment they came into contact with the steel.
I marked the cause of death as poisoning and a homicide. Unable to remove any of the now ruined city from his body, we instead sewed him up and prepared for the ritual.
A Leshii is tied to the forests they inhabited, and while they have physical forms with lifespans, they are more spiritual than we could ever imagine. Their births, lives and deaths are indicative of that. A new Leshii is born every five years on the 20th of March, the dawn of the spring solstice, and a Leshii must be buried before the Winter solstice on the 21st of December, lest they spend months wandering and causing decay in their own dwellings.
With only an hour to spare, we ferried his body to the edge of the Sturgeon Old Forest and a hole in the ground hastily dug by Chino’s subordinates. No embalming, no headstone, no chemicals, just the soil. As we lowered him in, the sunlight crept over the horizon and the last rites were given. When the sun touched his body, a soft flame started at his feet and worked its way over his body. As we piled the soil over him, flowers sprouted out of the ground and within moments had covered the spot in its entirety with wildflowers, rhododendrons and a single Lily.
“Your son has been returned to you, a new guardian, to watch over your lands. Let him bask in your light and grow anew. From the soil, we return.”
Chino and I hung our heads as the light finished covering the gravestone and made sure not to look upon the source of the rustling in the trees, the crunching of leaves or the scuttling in the bushes. Our respect was necessary, not our eyes. After a couple of minutes and a soft breeze whisked through the air, we knew we were done.
As we left, I could’ve sworn I saw a pair of thick, spiked antlers jutting out from behind a treeline some distance away.
Perhaps a family member watching from afar.
Perhaps this Leshii found his way home.
-
During our walk back, it became clear there was going to be a lot of red tape and work to be done. I resolved to write up my report and work with Chino on anything he needed. Whatever this was, no matter how horrifying, I would send myself to an early grave with stress if I didn’t see this through. He told me things would be fine. I could tell he was lying.
As we got to the front desk and began our goodbyes, Khali burst out in a fluster, covered in the leftovers of our Leshii from downstairs. I always felt guilty for making them do cleanup, but it was this or feeding the council and I don’t think Khali is prepared for what they’d say to them just yet.
“Chief, you got a letter, I think… I think you may wanna open it.” They clasped it in filthy, shaking hands. I raised an eyebrow.
“You shaking because of the gunk? I know you’re particular about the messes, but…” I trailed off when I looked into their eyes; darting for a safe place to decompress. I shook my head. “Go clean up and get a coffee. We’ve got this.”
Khali bowed and ran for the bathroom with such speed I didn’t think was possible. Running my hands over the envelope, I felt the fine paper and my name embossed in perfect white cursive against the charcoal backdrop. As if it were calling to me.
Inside, the note was simple and to the point, written in a thick green liquid. The blood of the Leshii. Making my own run cold as my eyes scanned the warning;
“More will come.Memento Mori.”
A sigil scrawled beneath it, the exact same brand I’d seen on the Leshii’s body, but with the flesh covering the patch that was missing from his corpse. Two shovels intersecting in front of a painted skull. A name etched around the sigil in golden writing.
”The Order Of The Gravediggers.”

2020.11.27 21:47 tyomax CS last offer information package

The employer has made a last offer for a 3-year term starting in December 2018. You have the opportunity to review the employer’s last offer and have your say on the next steps.
We have two options: to accept the employer’s last offer, or to reject it and get ready to vote in favour of a strike and take job actions until we reach a deal.
This is an offer for a 3-year term starting in December 2018. It includes the same pay increases that were secured by all other PIPSC and PSAC groups for those 3 years:
If accepted by members like you, these economic increases would be paid to you as retroactive pay within 180 days from the signing of the agreement. You would also be entitled to $500 for late implementation of the contract.
The offer includes gains that PIPSC made at the central table, such as domestic violence leave, updated maternity and parental benefits, and a broader definition of family for family-related leave.
The offer does not address the 1.5% pay gap between CS members and our counterparts at the Canada Revenue Agency, which was central to the bargaining team’s demands.
Your negotiation team worked hard on this issue. We made a breakthrough when the Public Interest Commission (PIC) unanimously recognized the unfairness of this pay gap – even though it recommended that “the wage gap be closed in a future round of bargaining as soon as the economic situation allows."
This offer must now be considered by CS members like you.
All regular members in good standing will receive voting instructions by email. Please ensure your membership information is up to date.
The voting will be open from November 30, 2020, to December 14, 2020, at 12:00 PM (noon) ET.

Documents for review

Please take the time to review these documents:
A Yes vote means: You accept all of the changes proposed in the employer’s last offer. Those changes will take place at the date of the signing of the collective agreement (except as otherwise noted) and the employer will have a period of 180 days to implement salary changes and retroactive pay.
A No vote means: You reject the employer’s last offer and commit to supporting a strike vote, job actions and further negotiations.

2020.11.27 21:43 Opening-Survey 24 [M4F] New Jersey - Just trying to get back into dating again.

Well I'm trying to get back into dating again. I've tried Reddit before and have been able to develop a few conversations online. I was able to go on one date via Reddit but the connection just wasn't there. Still I'm hoping to get some better luck this time and I'm willing to try the Reddit route again.
Anyhow, I'm 24 living in central NJ, Somerset County to be more specific. I'm not the best at writing about myself so I'm sorry if this sounds a little generic. I enjoy going hiking from time to time and playing a round of bowling. I'm currently in the process of finishing a large jigsaw puzzle, but I keep putting it off. Anyhow if you have any questions then feel free to ask.
I'm 24, white, 5'10", I've got a slim/average figure. I'll be sure to send a face pic in our chat.
hope to hear from you soon,

2020.11.27 21:14 LucidKobold 3rd Class Update

It has been a year, hasn’t it?
I’ve had my share of good and bad. Overall it’s been very depressing and not that productive due to that. We all are dealing with cabin fever with all the lockdowns and restrictions. As of making this post we recently went back to stage 2 lockdown in my area due to spikes in infections. I am sure some of us have lost loved ones or friends and I offer my condolences to all of you who have.
This year was looking to be very good. I was going to start school in a field that has interested me my whole life. I started that school and caught on to all the concepts relatively easily. I was hoping to power through it all and be done around this month. Until A hiccup happened and I was kicked out in July due to errors they still have yet to own up to.
I wanted to take this break in the school and make the best of it. I wanted to start working on that new story that was in the back of my mind for months (at the time I was kicked out), I wanted to make new hypnosis files, I wanted to make everyone’s pandemic life entertaining and fun! And then it hit me… The depression I mentioned earlier
I lost all motivation in doing anything and everything. Suddenly the basic act of playing video games alone (off stream) with friends felt too much on a lot of days. I promised myself I would seek therapy and I did try, but my medical insurance sucks and the majority of therapists in my area doesn’t accept them. So I was stuck. If you have been here this whole year you know I haven’t made much of anything.

Excepted Absence Through 2021 (Original announcement about my classes)
The original announcement about me starting vocational school around March of this year. The original projection was to complete the course around November. You can read all about it in this post.
Update on My Progression Through This Program (1st Class Update)
The first update on my classes on July 13 regarding my progression with this program. Which has been postponed my progression and completion date by 5 months. Please read the update about that here.
2nd Class Update
The second update on my classes on September 5. Mostly reiterating information from the first update and promising to make content now that I know for certain I will likely have a few months break. This post was before the strong depression really set in. Please read the update about that here.

That’s not to say I didn’t make anything at all. I did write down that brainstorm of that new story a little. I did start and complete some hypnosis scripts. I even started a new streaming schedule on Twitch that I have been trying my best to stick to! It’s been going good so far.
This year also hasn’t been all that bad. With the help of my mother and the stimulus checks I saved earlier this year I was able to build me a proper gaming/streaming PC last month. This has opened up many streaming possibilities since I am no longer limited to what games I have on my PS4 and the relatively small library the PS4 has (when compared to the PC and Steam), all things considered. On top of that some games are simply better played with mouse and keyboard. I built it just in time because my old PC was dying.
I also acquired a handful of Telegram communities/groups from someone who decided to depart the furry community. This has been what has been keeping me busy this month. I have been trying to move information about The Cove and those communities into 1 centralized website. I have also been working updating the policies that the old owner gave me and merging them with my own policies. As well as a staff NDA, updating the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to accommodate the larger community.
On top of all of that I was finally able to have a meeting with the director of the adult program, the admissions lead, and my student success advisor about what happened back in July and they have officially invited me back into the program. This is great news to me! I am very happy about this. It has brought my motivation and moral up ten fold. That’s what’s gotten me so motivated in working on the new community website and all the staff policies.
I will be starting school on January 4th which means I should complete it some time in May. I am starting the last class from scratch and that is okay. I think the extra practice will be very helpful and could drill the information and skills into my brain more. I am unsure if I will be taking an exam since I passed the last one or if I will need to take a modified exam. That’s not important information for the fans and readers though.

To-do list before school starts again:

I planned to have all the community changes and the Christmas/Holiday file done by the end of the month, but I was sick a few weeks ago and that halted a lot of progress. The good news is that the new Community website is almost complete, the staff policies and NDA only need a little more polish, and the support/application forms won’t take that long since I already like how they are layed out already.
The Christmas/Holiday file shouldn’t take long and the new projected completion date will be the first week of December. This won’t allow listeners to experience the full enjoyment of the file and I am sorry about that. Like I said, I was sick a few weeks ago. It really got in the way of everything. I already know how I want to make the file. It is going to have it’s own custom induction. The script should be a breeze. I just hope I can record and master the file in a decent amount of time.
As soon as the staff application is updated then I will be working with my head admin and the read of the staff teams in getting the extra help we need for the communities before my absence in January.
I am trying my best not to rush things so that I don’t miss things, mess ups, or release sub-par content. So please be patient. I am trying the best I can.
One last thing. There is a black friday sale in the shop through till November, 29 2020.

2020.11.27 20:30 CuteBananaMuffin A Fluoride-Free Pineal Gland is More Important Than Ever

A Fluoride-Free Pineal Gland is More Important Than Ever
by Paul Fassa June 02, 2009 from NaturalNews Website
There has been some controversy over the activity of adding synthetic fluoride to municipal water supplies and elsewhere, but not enough. The seriousness of this issue is more than what most realize.
Fluoridation ranks with GMO's and tainted, forced vaccinations among the great crimes against humanity.
Understanding the Different Fluorides There are two types of fluoride.
Calcium Fluoride, which appears naturally in underground water supplies, is relatively benign. However, too much consumed daily can lead to bone or dental problems.
Calcium is used to counter fluoride poisoning when it occurs. This redeeming factor indicates that the calcium in naturally formed calcium fluoride neutralizes much of fluoride's toxic effects.
On the other hand, the type of fluorides added to water supplies and other beverages and foods are waste products of the nuclear, aluminum, and now mostly the phosphate (fertilizer) industries.
The EPA has classified these as toxins: fluorosilicate acid sodium silicofluoride sodium fluoride
For this article, the term Sodium Fluoride will include all three types. Sodium fluoride is used for rat poison and as a pesticide.
According to a scientific study done several years ago, Comparative Toxicity of Fluorine Compounds, industrial waste sodium fluorides are 85 times more toxic than naturally occurring calcium fluoride:

http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisheachs/journals/content/iechad/1934/iechad.1934.26.issue-7/ie50295a026/production/ie50295a026.fp.png_v03
Health Hazards of Sodium Fluoride Generally, most fluoride entering the body is not easily eliminated.
It tends to accumulate in the body's bones and teeth. Recently, it has been discovered to accumulate even more in the pineal gland, located in the middle of the brain.
This consequence of dental fluorosis, which seriously harms teeth, from daily fluoridation has been documented. Yet, the American Dental Association (AMA) continues beating a dead horse, promoting fluoride. There is a refusal to admit that instead of preventing tooth decay, fluoride causes even more dental harm.
The flood of sodium fluoride in water and food also creates other more serious health problems that are not widely publicized, even suppressed.
Nevertheless, in addition to fluorosis, independent labs and reputable researchers have linked the following health issues with daily long term intake of sodium fluoride:
Cancer Genetic DNA Damage Thyroid Disruption - affecting the complete endocrine system and leading to obesity Neurological - diminished IQ and inability to focus, lethargy and weariness Alzheimer's Disease Melatonin Disruption, lowers immunity to cancer, accelerates aging, sleep disorders Pineal Gland, calcification, which clogs this gland located in the middle of the brain

How Did We Get Stuck With Stuff? According to investigative journalist Christopher Bryson, author of The Fluoride Deception, getting large quantities of sodium fluoride into the water and food system was a ploy of public relations sponsored by the industries who were saddled with getting rid of the toxic materials.
Fluoride was necessary for the processing or enriching of uranium.
The pro-fluoride propaganda was started during the Manhattan Project to create the first atom bombs in the 1940's. The spin was to convince workers and locals where the largest nuclear plant was located in Tennessee that fluoride was not only safe, it was good for kids' dental health.
In the early 1950's, the notorious spin master and father of advertising, Edward Bernays, continued the campaign for adding fluorides to water supplies as an experiment in engineering human consent! Then the AMA picked up on the dental issue and endorsed sodium fluoride's addition to water supplies. The few dissenting health studies and reports were usually squashed.
Those dissenting voices were dismissed as quacks regardless of their credentials.
Approximately 2/3 of the USA water supply is laced with sodium fluoride. Sodium fluoride is a common pesticide. So that residue is in some foods. Some sodas, packaged orange juices, and even bottled drinking water for babies contain fluoride additives.
Buyer beware. Read your labels carefully.
Avoiding Fluoridation Keep in mind that boiling only increases the concentration of fluoride to water more.
But removing fluoride from tap water is not so difficult. Reverse osmosis works well for removing fluorides. If you own your home and can spring for the bucks, you can have one installed under the sink in your kitchen. That makes things very convenient for your fluoride removal from tap water.
If this is not your situation, grab a couple of large jugs and fill them up from reverse osmosis machines in health food stores, supermarkets, and other locations. There are several such machines around, usually labeled as using reverse osmosis, and they usually take coins.
So it is the most accessible and cheapest way to go if you can't install one where you live.
The Physiological Importance of the Pineal Gland During the late 1990's in England, a scientist by the name of Jennifer Luke undertook the first study the effects of sodium fluoride on the pineal gland.
She determined that the pineal gland, located in the middle of the brain, was a target for fluoride. The pineal gland simply absorbed more fluoride than any other physical matter in the body, even bones.
Because of the pineal gland's importance to the endocrine system, her conclusions were a breakthrough. Her study provided the missing link to a lot of physiological damage from sodium fluoride that had been hypothesized but not positively connected.
A veritable root source for the chain reaction of blocked endocrine activity had been isolated.
Good news though. Frequent exposure to outdoor sunshine, 20 minutes or so at a time, will help stimulate a fluoride calcified pineal gland. Just make sure you take off your hat.
This is more important than most realize, because the pineal gland affects so much other enzyme and endocrine activity, including melatonin production.
The 2012 Connection First a bit about 2012, a date many have heard about.
According to Carlos Barrios, anthropologist, historian, and investigator who was initiated as a Mayan ceremonial priest and spiritual guide,
"Anthropologists visit the temple sites and read the inscriptions... but they do not read the signs correctly... Other people write about prophecy in the name of the Maya. They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed."
Carlos Barrios goes on to say that the transformation will be both spiritual and physical.
The transition started in 1987. He says that we are in a spiritual transition from the rule of materialism, greed, and enmity to a new period of cooperation and peace - but not without difficulty. The current oligarchy is happy with what they have and don't want to give it up, and they are powerful.
The Mayans claim that 2012 marks the end of the period of the fourth sun and the beginning of the fifth sun.
Carlos points out that adversarial revolution against the ruling class will not work. It is up to those who want this shift to connect with others of like mind and begin actively creating networks of real cooperation. The old will crumble. The new period will dawn with its growing pains, the severity of which depends on our ability to accept what is happening and go with the flow.
This, he says, requires evolving to unconditional love, with an open and simple heart, forgiveness, and cooperation with less ego competition.
Connecting the Pineal Gland to This 2012 Matter Well, what does all this have to do with the pineal gland? A lot.
It is considered a portal to the inner or higher self by yogi masters, including Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Psychics consider it to be the link for inter dimensional experiences.
It is associated with what many call the third eye or sixth chakra, which is a doorway to higher consciousness and bliss.
And it is vital for supporting intuition, an ability that will be needed during hard times. So it is necessary to evolve spiritually in order to help create better understanding, acceptance of our fellow humans, and easier group cooperation. Meditation is a part of this evolving.
That and a little sunshine, good rest and food, can cause a calcified pineal gland to loosen up and allow that portal to open.
An unusual psychiatrist, professor of medicine at University of New Mexico, and practicing Buddhist, Dr. Rick Strassman, MD, has written a book based on actual human studies of people under the psychedelic drug, DMT, titled DMT - The Spirit Molecule.
He has discovered, among other things, that the pineal gland is a source of DMT production during birth and at death, and during near death or mystical experiences. This chemical approach corroborates the idea of the pineal gland as a portal, where the spirit passes through to other dimensions, either entering this physical realm or leaving it.
South American and Central American shamans use Ayahuasca, an herbal potion that stimulates DMT for psychological healing and spiritual initiation ceremonies.
They have expanded their ceremonies with Ayahuasca by traveling throughout the world or opening their local facilities to non natives. They are doing this urgently in anticipation of 2012. Their desire is to jump start and expand individuals' consciousness so the transition of consciousness will be facilitated and incorporate as many as possible.
This information is meant to link the physical realm's pineal gland to higher states of awareness and other realms.
The point is not to advocate or discourage psychedelic drug use, but to encourage health, meditation and spiritual growth by maintaining a fluoride free pineal gland. 2012 is approaching.
Time to get in shape!

2020.11.27 20:07 MatthewBian Ca grizzly

This might be an unconventional post. But I wanted to inform people about the lost biodiversity in my home of California alone, and the deeper implications of this tide. The sixth mass extinction isn’t taking place exclusively with lions in Africa, elephants in Asia, or pandas in china. It’s reach and the impacts of the anthropocene are inescapable, leaving the biodiversity of this planet to embrace the fast moving pace of change or die in its wake. Since the industrial revolution, we as a collective species have gained the power to shape the planet in ways that we never conceived of. Most notably, the explosion of the human population, the invention of the repeating rifle, and the burning of fossil fuels have left their mark on animal populations worldwide, with us as the sole culprit to blame.
Ursus arctos californicus
The fact that it’s on Californria’s state flag might indicate some reverence or respect of the creature. But nope. It’s dead. We killed it. Consider this: The grizzly bear used to roam across the whole of North America, as far west as California, as east as the middle United States, and as south as central mexico. Now it is limited to Yellowstone, Alaska, and about half its original range in Canada.
The california grizzly grew larger than its counterparts in the rockies. In fact, it was big enough to be deemed a unique subspecies. The largest, shot in valley center, just a bit north of Escondido in San Diego county, weighed 2,200 pounds. That outweighs Yellowstone’s largest grizzlies by 500 pounds. The mild coastal climate, and plentiful food such as roots, berries, whale carcasses, salmon, and human babies(okay, I kid) was what allowed them to achieve such monstrous sizes. The golden state was home to an estimated 10,000 bears at its peak, and native american tribes have different stories regarding the Grizzly, which is where the name Yosemite comes from.
Life was good for the bear before the arrival of settlers. But that changed in 1769. Gaspar de Portola’s expedition was saved from starvation when bears were killed for meat in what is now Los Osos in San Luis Obispo county. Pre-dating the invention of the repeating rifle, they were hunted, but not to extremes, and were able to take advantage of the cattle being raised as a food source. Mexican ranchers called vaqueros killed bears by lassoing them, and could kill as many as 20 in a single night.
“The animals were lassoed by the throat and also by the hind leg, a horseman at each end, and the two pulling in opposite directions until the poor beast succumbed. The fun was kept up until about daylight, and when they got through they were completely exhausted”
“This method of hunting the bear is one of the noblest diversions with which I am acquainted. It requires an extraordinary degree of courage for a man to ride up beside a savage monster like the grizzly bear of this country”
“Fages himself headed a company of soldiers to hunt bears in the Canada De Los Osos. They roved about the valley, in which San Luis Obispo mission was founded, for about three months. During this time the hunters were enabled to send twenty five loads, or about 9,000 pounds of bear meat to san carlos and San Antonio, besides wild seeds purchased from the savages''(Zephyrin engelhardt)
The stock market terminology for a bear and bull market originates in this animal. Bears were captured alive, and forced to fight bulls, ironically after church on sunday, in front of entire towns.
“Usually several combats could be had between a bull and bear before either was killed, which made this novel sport one of immense profit to those who owned the animals”
The bears were known to win the majority of the time, and both animals were often hesitant to fight each other. The bears attacked by swiping down, while the bulls attacked by slashing upwards, giving rise to the terms we know today.
“Notwithstanding repeated expeditions against them, bears continued to be plentiful down to the time when the American hooters and trappers came to the country; but they then began to be thinned out. At the time of the American occupation there were still many, but, as the country filled up, they became scarcer and are now only found in remote places”(History of CA,1898)
In this manner, the bear went extinct. It was poisoned, trapped, hunted, and exterminated for a myriad of reasons, for sport, out of fear, defense of livestock, and a need to prove oneself as “manly”. It was a vestigial symbol of the dying wild, being pushed further inland after the gold rush and as more people filled up the state of california. The stories, half truths, and anthropocentric tall tales told about the bear enhanced their reputation as bloodthirsty man eaters, and motivated hunters to persecute it. Scientists never got a good chance to study it or dispel the fog of superstition that enveloped it. Most of what we know about the bear is told by the narrators of its demise, who locked eyes with one down the length of a rifle barrel. Their large population at the onset, and muscular build gave early settlers the impression that they were invincible. The mentality at the time was that nature’s reserves were endless, the fish in the sea were never ending, so to speak, and that the consequences of human actions were trivial. Consequently, hunting was not regulated, and populations began to plummet.
Interview of Colin Preston, San Luis Obispo, 1845, Harper’s magazine:
Colin: “This region pleases me. There are bears larger, stronger, and more difficult to kill than the lions of Algeria(Barbary lion, another species hunted to extinction). One of these will sometimes overtake a horse at speed. They are long limbed, active, and full of cunning. As for their courage, they are seldom disheartened except by fatal wounds. The bear of this country resembles the man who hunts him, and it is this resemblance of character that gives interest to the chase”
Interviewer: “How many bears have you killed in California?
Colin: “Seventy large bears, and twice the number of smaller ones. The cubs and young bear of the season are excellent eating, but a man must be hungry to eat the sinewy flesh of a full grown grizzly”
Interviewer: “Two hundred and ten in ten years!”
Colin: “Yes, but they are scarcer now. When I came here first we saw them every day. Now we ride sometimes fifty miles to find a bear”
With the invention of the repeating rifle, The grizzly’s nobility, power and courage swiftly melted before the searing flame of gunpowder and lead. No being of flesh and blood could withstand the slaughter that followed. His kind fell by the thousands. Almost overnight the grizzly was forced to change his character and habits of living. The fearless ones suddenly became the great timid beast, who slept by day and stalked by night, and eluded conflict except when forced to fight for his very life. The once ruler of the wild fastness of California became extinct because his only sins were greatness in size and fearlessness of men
(The Passing of the King, Vance Hoyt, 1934)
The California grizzly bear’s raw strength and its position as apex predator caught the eye of those who began California's independence movement, leading to its representation as a state symbol. But the bear was suddenly out of place. The sunny beaches and inland chaparral hills it called home became San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
It was hunted and persecuted, the last confirmed one being killed on February 26, 1908 in Trabuco Canyon in eastern Orange County, visible from my home on a clear day. The 600 pound bear was caught in a trap, which it dragged for five miles before fighting off dogs and being killed with three shots to the head. She was called “Little black bear” while alive, but now taxidermied, goes by specimen 156594 in the Smithsonian. There was one final sighting in 1924 in Sequoia Park.
That was the last anyone saw of the California grizzly, which marks almost a century since the last bear roamed the state. But its death speaks to a greater ecological change. The old apex predator has been replaced by the new. It shows that globally, the wild has begun to wither away and die. Through our actions, the world is becoming less habitable for animals that require untouched expanses of land. Ernest Seton wistfully wrote that the grizzly had been “left at the mercy of men with no mercy”. The loss of the grizzly is symbolic of what else California lost. Salmon runs in the rivers, riparian woodlands, foggy coastal wetlands, the warm glow of the sun and the salty tang of the sea on a desolate beach. Much has been lost in the hurried and blind chasing of this thing we call “progress” and “civilization”. We still have much to learn about how to coexist peacefully with the species in our backyards, within the balances of a finite planet. But let the California grizzly and the demise of those like it serve not just as a dismal narrative but also an education. An awakening so that the broken, inbred, fragmented and dying pockets of the natural world might be given the chance to survive and thrive again.

2020.11.27 20:01 MatthewBian Where the wild things were

2020.11.27 19:52 OracleDBA What is the best way to determine cell provider access and strength in my area?

I have found cellmapper and antennasearch to be a bit lacking in accurate and up-to-date info on what towers are near my area and what providers they service.
I know some of you mangs with Android phones have a magic way to gauge signal strength but I am on Cricket (ATT MNNO throttled to 8mbps) with an old iphone.
What would be the best/cheapest/easiest way to get a solid read on provider signal strength at my location?
Part of me wants to get an old android phone that supports as many bands as possible and just switch out some cheap-o sims, but I was hoping some of you smart folks would have a simpler way.
Thanks!
PS. Area is way rural central Texas.

2020.11.27 19:32 TeamStagedive TIFU by picking up a free car

A few days ago I found an ad for a car that we could pick up for free on an online marketplace. My idea was to convert the car into a work of art for a music festival that we organize annually. So the free car seemed a very good opportunity.
The car had no papers, insurance or license plate. But that was no problem as we were only going to use the car as decoration for a festival. So I went with a friend to pick up the free car with a tow trailer. But after about 500 meters we noticed that the car was not properly secured to the trailer. So we placed the car on a secluded lawn where there are regularly empty trucks. Also there only pass a few cars in an hour so it seemed fine to us. Picture of the location
We drove home to get extra tie-down cables to secure the car to the trailer. After we returned + - 2 hours later the car turned out to have disappeared. Now it appears that the car has been towed by the police and that we have broken several laws.
The laws we have broken are:car without insurance on public roadscar without registration on public roadscar without annual vehicle inspection
The police advised me to call a lawyer. So I contacted a lawyer who told me that it will probably cost between 2,000 and 5,000 euros! And maybe even more. Excluding towing costs and storage costs. We even told the police that we didn't need the car back.
So I think I can forget about my solotrip for which I saved for 2 years. And all by a free car that I owned for 10 minutes. I'm so sad about it.
Country: Belgium
TLDR: While towing our free car, we had some problems with the trailer. So we left the car for a while when we got back it was towed and now I have to come to court. And pay a ridiculously high fine.

Royal Mistake: a prince or princess from another country comes to America for school under a disguise and fake name, and falls for a regular American commoner.. It calls for big scandals if anyone finds out who the noble in disguise really is.
Fake Fiancée: Y/C and his fiancée have recently called things off. There’s only one real problem to this... 2020.11.27 19:07 AAAbbasi786 Weekly Forex & Currency Update and Discussion #28 (November 20, 2020): Forex Reserves in SBP - $13.42 Billion (+3.75%); USD/PKR - 159.39 (+1.724%)

The percentage changes in the title are compared to the figures seven days ago.
USD/PKR Parity Discussion
Over the past week, the PKR has strengthened against the USD. Importantly, after hitting the 161.0000 level last week, the currency pair showed the capability to reverse lower and, as of this week, the USD/PKR is trading comfortably below the 160.0000 mark. If the Pakistani rupee can sustain its values below 160.0000 level near term, it may be a rather strong signal that the PKR could strengthen further in the future.
- A rewording of Robert Petrucci's Technical Analysis found on dailyforex.com
"Rupee would continue to swing pendulum around Rs. 160-ish as new buyers and sellers exchange hands. Demand would be on the rise as imports increase and FX reserves are built up. However, the new lockdown would slow down the buying trend for a while. Expect Rs. 160-ish to continue for a few weeks, if not months."
- A.A.H Soomro, Managing Director at Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Securities, while commenting on the Rupee
Sources familiar with the market told ProPakistani that there was a repayment due this month, and the volatility was because of that and more so because talks with the IMF were underway. “We may see more stability in the coming days,” they added.
CEO of the financial advisory Alpha Beta Core, Khurram Schezad, said that there is still room for PKR to improve against the USD as there have been more inflows of Dollars in the market compared to outflows.
- propakistani.pk
The Pakistani rupee is expected to appreciate further in the near future but its movement will largely depend on how the country manages its current account numbers, say analysts.
Some believe that the South Asian currency will stablise around the current level of 43 versus the UAE dirham, or 160 against the US dollar, following an over-three-month rally on the back of a surge in remittances and decline in current account deficit.
The Pakistani currency has risen 6.5 per cent, or Rs2.5, versus the dirham since August 26. It rose from Dh45.8 on August 26 to 43.0 on November 17. However, it lost some ground in the last few days and fell to 43.34 against the UAE currency on Thursday.
Pervez Khan, global treasurer at Askar Bank, told Bloomberg that the direction of the Pakistani currency will depend on upcoming current account numbers, while some analysts believe that it has lost steam and will likely trade at current levels.
Rajiv Raipancholia, CEO of Orient Exchange, attributed the surge in the rupee’s value to lower outflows of US dollars from Pakistan due to a decline in imports.
“In addition, remittances to Pakistan have increased due to the innovative incentive programme by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for the beneficiary receiving funds from overseas, which has led to better foreign currency inflows to Pakistan mainly for the Roshan Digital Account,” he said.
“With this present trend, the rupee can continue to appreciate to 155 against the US dollar [42.20 versus the dirham],” said Raipancholia.
Dr Qaiser Anis, president of the Pakistan Business Professional Council in Abu Dhabi, said the rupee can touch 40 versus the dirham in the near future due to strong inflows of remittances and business-friendly policies by the Imran Khan-led government.
- Khaleej Times
Forex Reserves Discussion
Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves increased 2.32 percent, or $467 million, during the week ended November 20 on the back of official inflows, the central bank reported on Thursday.
